Welcome to Liberia Business Awards 3.0 ("LBA 3.0", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Liberia Business Awards 3.0, including nominations, partnerships, voting, events, and use of our website.

Important: By participating in LBA 3.0, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not participate in the awards program.

1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, participating in, or using any services provided by Liberia Business Awards 3.0, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  • Continued participation after modifications constitutes acceptance of changes

2 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for nomination and participation in Liberia Business Awards 3.0, businesses and individuals must meet the following criteria:

Businesses (All Sizes)
  • Registered and operating in Liberia
  • Minimum 1 year of continuous operation (except Startups)
  • Valid business registration documents
  • Compliance with Liberian business laws
  • Operating in any of the 18 economic sectors
Startups
  • Business less than 3 years old
  • Innovative product/service
  • Growth potential demonstrated
  • Minimum 6 months of operation
SMEs
  • 6-100 employees
  • Annual revenue under $1M USD
  • Demonstrated local impact
Large Enterprises
  • 100+ employees
  • National or international presence
  • Significant economic contribution

Disqualification Grounds

Businesses may be disqualified for: false information, unethical practices, legal violations, bankruptcy proceedings, or previous award revocation.

3 Nomination Process

3.1 Submission Guidelines

  • All nominations must be submitted through the official LBA website (liberiabusinessawardslr.com) or authorized channels
  • Nominations open on March 1 and close on May 30 (5:59 PM) Liberia Time annually
  • Each business may be nominated in up to 3 of the 72 award categories
  • Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged
  • All information provided must be accurate, complete, and verifiable

3.2 Award Categories

LBA 3.0 features 72 award categories across 5 tiers and 18 economic sectors:

Startup Awards (4)

For businesses 0-3 years old

SME Awards (4)

For Small & Medium Enterprises

Large Enterprise Awards (3)

For established corporations

Sector Awards (72)

4 per each of 18 economic sectors

National Leadership Awards (8)

CEO, Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur, etc.

3.3 Required Documentation

Nominations must include:

Business registration documents
Tax clearance certificate
Business profile/description
Achievements and impact evidence
Contact information of nominator

3.4 Entry Fees

There are no entry fees for nominations. The Liberia Business Awards is committed to making business recognition accessible to all qualified Liberian businesses regardless of size or financial capacity.

4 Judging Process

4.1 Judging Panel

The judging panel consists of independent industry experts, business leaders, and professionals selected for their expertise and impartiality. Judges are required to:

  • Sign confidentiality agreements
  • Declare any conflicts of interest
  • Evaluate submissions based on established criteria
  • Maintain impartiality throughout the process

4.2 Evaluation Criteria

4.3 Final Decision

The judging panel's decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process or results. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on December 19, 2026.

5 Voting Rules

5.1 Voting Period

Public voting runs from June 1 to July 30 annually. All votes must be cast within this period to be counted.

5.2 Voting Guidelines

  • Each person may vote once per business using a valid email address
  • Email verification is required before votes are counted
  • Votes are rated on a scale of 1-10
  • Public votes count as 1 point each
  • Jury votes count as 3 points each
  • Votes cannot be changed after submission

5.3 Voting Integrity

We monitor voting patterns for irregularities. Any detected fraudulent voting (including bot voting, vote buying, or multiple votes from the same email) will result in disqualification of affected votes and potential disqualification of the business from the awards.

5.4 Vote Weight Calculation

Final scores are calculated as: (Average Public Vote × 0.6) + (Average Jury Vote × 0.4)

Example: If a business receives average public vote of 8.5 and average jury vote of 9.0, final score = (8.5 × 0.6) + (9.0 × 0.4) = 5.1 + 3.6 = 8.7

6 Partnership Terms

6.1 Partnership Categories

Organizations seeking visibility and engagement

Contributing through programs or expertise

6.2 Partner Obligations

  • Partners must fulfill financial commitments as agreed in the sponsorship agreement
  • Branding materials must be provided in specified formats by agreed deadlines
  • Partners must adhere to LBA brand guidelines
  • Partnership benefits are non-transferable
  • Partners agree to be featured in LBA promotional materials

6.3 Payment Terms

Payment Schedule: 50% upon signing sponsorship agreement, 50% 30 days before the awards ceremony.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations more than 60 days before the event receive 50% refund. Cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable.

Payment Methods: Bank transfer, mobile money, or check accepted.

7 Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership Rights

All intellectual property rights related to Liberia Business Awards 3.0, including but not limited to logos, trademarks, content, and materials, are owned by Liberia Business Awards or its licensors.

7.2 Participant Grant of Rights

By participating, you grant LBA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

  • Use your business name, logo, and submitted materials for promotional purposes
  • Feature your business in LBA publications and media
  • Share your success stories across LBA platforms
  • Archive your submission for historical records
  • Use nomination and voting data for statistical analysis

7.3 Restrictions

Participants may not use LBA logos, trademarks, or branding without express written permission. Unauthorized use may result in disqualification and legal action.

8 Privacy & Data Protection

8.1 Data Collection

We collect personal and business information necessary for the awards process, including but not limited to:

Registration details, financial information, business documents

Contact Data

Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses

Submission Data

Nomination forms, supporting documents, achievements

Usage Data

Website analytics, cookies, IP addresses, browser information

Voting Data

Voter emails, vote values, timestamps

8.2 Data Usage

Collected data is used for:

  • Processing nominations and evaluating submissions
  • Processing and verifying votes
  • Communicating awards-related information
  • Improving LBA programs and services
  • Complying with legal obligations
  • Marketing and promotional activities (with consent)
  • Analytics and performance tracking

9 Liability & Disclaimers

Liberia Business Awards, its organizers, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Technical issues preventing submission, voting, or participation
  • Errors or omissions in awards materials
  • Actions of third parties or partners
  • Results or outcomes of the awards process

9.2 Disclaimers

The awards are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. LBA does not guarantee business success, funding, or specific outcomes from participation. Award recognition does not constitute endorsement of business practices or financial stability.

9.3 Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liberia Business Awards from any claims, damages, or losses arising from their participation, including but not limited to false information, intellectual property infringement, or breach of these terms.

10 Termination Rights

10.1 LBA's Rights

Liberia Business Awards reserves the right to:

  • Disqualify any participant for breach of these terms
  • Cancel or modify the awards program at any time
  • Withdraw awards if winners are later found ineligible
  • Remove content that violates these terms
  • Terminate partnerships for non-compliance
  • Invalidate votes found to be fraudulent

10.2 Participant Rights

Participants may withdraw their nomination at any time by written notice to info@liberiabusinessawardslr.com. Withdrawn nominations are not eligible for refund of any costs incurred. Voters cannot withdraw or change votes once submitted.

11 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

11.1 Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Monrovia, Liberia.

11.2 Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12 Amendments

12.1 Modification Rights

Liberia Business Awards reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to participants via email and website announcements.

12.2 Notification of Changes

Notification Method: Changes will be posted on our website with the "Last Updated" date modified. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
